SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre (STFC) has been involved with a project called “Strengthening of Livelihood Initiative for Home-Based Workers in the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Region” supported by the SAARC Development Fund with the mission of women’s empowerment in the region, by targeting poor/marginalized homebased workers from the informal sector of the economy. This objective is being achieved by establishing Trade Facilitation Centres (TFC) based on SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre model which has successfully evolved as a business organization in India exclusively owned and managed by home based artisans.
After two and half years of consistent and tireless efforts SABAH country chapters have been successfully registered in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The process will shortly fructify in Bhutan and Maldives. |
